I usually do not take selfies unless I am with other people so in most of the selfies I have are pretty much the same. They are usually just pictures taking when hanging out with friends and the reason I take them is to send to someone else. This could be a way I obscure my identity. I never have the intention to post these pictures anywhere but are usually sent to someone just to be funny and goofy.
This first selfie is of me and my best friend Jacob. This was him visiting me at school and during of the nights we were going out. I probably sent this picture to one of our other friends back home. This picture does not really have a distorted view from reality. What I could have been doing here is making sure people new that my friend was here to try and boost my social status.
One of the biggest thing about my selfies they most are with other people or different things. The pictures of me by myself are some of the only pictures I have taken since high school. I am pretty uncomfortable taking pictures of myself let alone sharing them withb people so most of my selfies are with something or someone because I think I am probably looking for an excuse to try and boost my social status. The best example for boosting my status is probably the picture taken at the yankees game (Selfie #3). The Yankees Game could also be a way to try and boost my Socio economic statues.
Selfie number 4 is probably my favorite one out of those five because it is just me being goofy and mostly because I am smiling in the picture. I do not take many where I am smiling and I think thats just because I do not like taking pictures a lot but in the ones I am smiling are great because you know I am having a good time. Selfie Number 4 is me at my summer job at the marina I worked at. The picture could boost my socio-economic status and overall disposition. Most people that do not know me well probably think I am very shy (which I am sometimes) but this pictures shows that I am okay with doing something goofy in a public space.
Selfie number 2 is actually a pretty distorted photo of me. The bird in the picture was my bird joey who was actually 34 years old when he died last year. Although Joey was known by most he very rarely came that close to people with him flying away because he got scared. This picture boosts my social status in a way because of how interesting and different it is in having a bird.
Lastly most of my selfies are taking while I am doing something. This is probably because I get excited and want people to think I am cool because of the event and things I am participating in.
